H.E. Anas Al-Saleh Biography


His Excellency Anas Khalid Al Saleh was born in 1972 in the State of Kuwait. He pursued his primary and secondary education in Kuwait.  Upon completing his secondary education at the American School of Kuwait, he proceeded to Portland State University, Oregon, USA where he earned his degree in finance.  Having been identified as a leader of substance, he served in several capacities in the State of Kuwait and currently is the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance  to the State of Kuwait. These appointments are made by His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

His Excellency’s professional career was set out upon him having earned his degree in finance from the Portland State University.  He joined the Board of Directors of Jeezan Real Estate Company (KSCC) in 1997.  He was the General Manager at Sadeem Al-Kuwait General Trading and Contracting Company (WLL) and General Manager at Al Baderi Holding Company (KSCC). He became member of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Real Estate Company (KSC) in 2003.  In 2006, he was the Vice Chairman at the public-listed Kuwait Investment Company in 2010.  He was also elected to serve as the chairperson of Kuwait Clearing Company (KSC) being the central clearing, settlement and depository entity for the Kuwaiti Capital Market.

Prior to his appointment as Minister, His Excellency served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2006 till 2012 and continues to serve as the chairperson of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA).  KIA is the Governmental entity responsible for the management of the assets of the country. He was a member of the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) and currently its chairperson serves as.

His Excellency was: a member of the Market Committee (Market Regularity Authority) for a period of 3 years; member of Kuwait Financial Markets Association from 2001 till 2012; member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Services Group from 2000-2003.

He also served as Chairman and CEO in a number of international corporations.  These include: IFA Securities in the United Arab Emirates; IFA Financial Services in Jordan; IFA Securities in Egypt; and IFA Financial Services in Syria.

He is married to Shaimaa Al Mulla, who works as Arbitrator and Conciliator at Kuwait Commercial Arbitration Center, and they have four Children, Aicha (19), Nasser (17), Abdullah (15), and Taibah (13).
